Writing posts without keyword research = writing for nobody. Google ignores random topics.
In this tutorial, you'll find low competition keywords that real people search. Follow along and you'll get blog ideas that rank in 30 days.
Step 1: Use Google Autocomplete for Free Keywords
Google shows what people actually type. This data is 100% free.
- Go to google.com → Type your topic + space → Don’t hit Enter
- Example: Type "how to start a " → Google shows: blog, youtube channel, business
- Try letters: "how to start a b" → Shows: blog, business, bakery
- Write down 10 suggestions. These are real keywords with search volume

Step 2: Check "People Also Ask" + Related Searches
Each Google result page gives 15+ keyword ideas for free.
- Search your main keyword → Scroll to "People also ask" box
- Click each question → More questions appear. Copy all
- Scroll to bottom → "Related searches" → Copy all 8 phrases
- Each phrase = separate blog post idea

Step 3: Use Free Keyword Tools 2025
| Tool | Free Limit | Best For |
| Ubersuggest | 3 searches/day | Search volume + SEO difficulty |
| AnswerThePublic | 3 searches/day | Question keywords: how, what, why |
| Google Keyword Planner | Unlimited, needs Gmail | Exact search volume ranges |
| Keywords Everywhere | Chrome extension, limited free | Shows volume on Google page |
Step 4: Pick Low Competition Keywords You Can Rank
New blogs can’t rank for "blogging". Target long-tail keywords with low SEO difficulty.
- Good keyword: "how to start a blog in 2025 for free" → 500 searches, SEO difficulty 10
- Bad keyword: "blog" → 1M searches, SEO difficulty 90 → Impossible for new blog
- Rule: If top 10 Google results are Reddit, Quora, small blogs → You can beat them
- Rule: If top 10 are Forbes, NerdWallet, Wikipedia → Skip. Too hard

Step 5: Keyword Research Workflow for Every Post
- Step 1: Brainstorm topic → "blogger templates"
- Step 2: Google autocomplete → "blogger templates free download 2025"
- Step 3: Check Ubersuggest → 300 searches, SD 15 = Good
- Step 4: Check competition → Only small blogs ranking = Can win
- Step 5: Write post → Use keyword in title, H2, first 100 words
Bad practice to avoid: Targeting keywords with 0 search volume. Use Keyword Planner to check. If it shows 0-10, nobody searches it.
Important: One keyword = one post. Don’t write "blogger templates and SEO tips" in same article. Split into 2 posts to rank for both.
